Culture is a valuable part of the learning environment at UNT.

UNT has several campus art galleries, and more than 15 outdoor statues and art pieces.

In addition to regular exhibits are the numerous senior and graduate shows. You might see the work of a great artist before they become world renown!

UNT’s Texas Fashion Collection pieces are displayed in the University Union. Fashion design students can study from this collection of over 15,000 garments which includes designs by Cristobal Balenceaga, Oscar de la Renta, and Hubert de Givenchy. It has inspired many students, like UNT alumna and Project Runway participant, Sharin Askari.

UNT’s College of Music is among the best and largest in the nation. This is where Grammy-winning artist Norah Jones came to study jazz.

More than 1,000 music performances happen at UNT every year. Events range from soloists and small ensembles to full symphonies, with performers from cultures you might not normally get a chance to see. It's all right here on campus and many performances are free. You’ll benefit from these numerous opportunities, while your peers gain valuable performance experience.

Away from campus, Denton’s musical landscape is often compared to Austin’s early music scene. The annual ‘North by 35’ is Denton’s warm-up to the popular South by Southwest music festival.

The Denton Jazz Festival not only attracts international talent, it’s a great way to enjoy a spring weekend outdoors.

If theatre’s your thing, Denton’s theatre life is thriving and provides an affordable alternative to a traditional dinner-and-a-movie date.

On campus, the RTVF Building and Murchison Performing Arts Center stage theatre performances while off campus you can get involved at the landmark Campus Theatre on the downtown square.
